Hot Gai Llc in San Francisco, 1001 MARKET is looking for one kitchen lead to join our 20 person strong team. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and reliable.A kitchen lead is responsible for the kitchen and its staff. Their duties can include:Managing the kitchen teamThis can include training and managing volunteers, such as prep cooks, line cooks, and other kitchen leads. They may also coach volunteers on service etiquette, health department requirements, and service quality. Ability to know what machine needs to be service Ability to come up with a cleaning plan Ability to service cooking machines at the restaurant Maintain a clean workstation Check to see if things are getting rotated correctly Improve on the cleaning of the restaurant and kitchen Management Food Safety Manager Certificate Ability to manage a team to get highest quality and best use of time Manage timesheets breaks and requested time off Ability to report to the GM and assistant manager on the state of the kitchen Escalate issues to management Ability to deescalate issues with direct reports Food preparation This can include overseeing food preparation, coordinating production, and ensuring that finished products meet quality and sanitation standards. Ability to create new menu items on your own Ability to fix something without being asked Manage food inventory and food waste Updating recipes books Maintain food quality Kitchen suppliesThis can include stocking work stations with supplies and tools, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment is operating properly and used safely.Kitchen cleanlinessThis can include maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen work area, dining room area, food preparation area, refrigerator, walk-in, freezer, and pantry.Guest activityThis can include monitoring guest activity to ensure adherence to facility policies.Other responsibilities This can include managing food costs, placing and receiving orders, and reporting any problems to the kitchen manager Ability to communicate with Management effectively Basic conversational English Qualifications must be able to lift 50 lbs properly handle food able to drive ( preferred) We are looking forward to reading your application.
