Our cafe is growing and we are looking for support/coverage in a few areas. Our customer base are the employees of Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, CA. We are a strong team that runs breakfast and lunch shifts Monday through Friday, 5:30AM-2:00PM.
Opportunities are available immediately as a prep cook/Sous Chef/dishwasher and cashier. Responsibilities would be to support the Executive Chef with operating a cafeteria style commercial kitchen. Our team is looking to find strong team players that can support and add coverage for various positions in a small dynamic group.

Responsibilities:
We are looking for individuals who have experience with the following or have interest in developing their own skills in a kitchen environment. Examples of tasks include the following:
· Help manage and guide other cooks to ensure successful food service.
· Help the Executive Chef create and execute menus.
· Maintain inventory and help with supply orders.
· Set up and stock food items and other necessary supplies.
· Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, and mixing.
· Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods according to recipes and standards.
· Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
· Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces.
· Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
· Cooks items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
· Ensures that food comes out in high quality and in a timely fashion.
· Complies with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
· Maintains a professional approach with coworkers and customers.
· May have to modify meals for special dietary needs.
About you:
Experience in the industry is highly desirable but not necessary. Understanding the business operations is key to your success. To be successful in this role, experience in the following areas are preferred:
· Experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook. Preferably experience managing several other employees/coworkers.
· Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
· Familiar with industry best practices.
· Basic written and verbal communication skills
· Organizational skills.
· Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
· Ability to work as a team member.
· Follows directions and instructions.
· Deli and/or catering experience is a plus.
