Greens is looking for a passionate and dedicated floor manager to join our team!

The opening of Greens Restaurant on San Francisco Bay in 1979 forever changed the image and appreciation of vegetarian cooking in America. Known for a distinctive culinary style of celebrating vegetables, Greens produces ever-changing menus that are dedicated to the seasonal harvests of local farmers and the organic gardens of its farm, Green Gulch. Led by Executive Chef Katie Reicher, Greens continues to lead the vegetarian movement forward. Founded by the San Francisco Zen Center, Greens' company culture is one of inclusion, with a passion for hospitality and gratitude.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Maintaining the well-being of our guests and staff

- Visit every table with an introduction or conversation. Be a presence on the floor.

- Make sure all employees are following the house rules, labor codes and being safe.

- Open the restaurant on time every day.

- Know the daily menus (food and beverage) and review them with the team.

- Keep the restaurant clean, neat, and organized. This includes restrooms, offices, hallways, outdoor areas, stations inside the restaurant, and the entire dining room floor.

- Have daily lineups and meetings with staff to review goals and expectations.

- Be on time with our reservations and try to take all walk-ins.

- Find ways to say yes.

- Follow up on daily checklists for all departments/sign off on checklists.

- Follow up with staff regarding performance

- Maintain the highest level of service by leading the team towards success

- Order necessary supplies/keep the restaurant well supplied.

Floor managers are also in charge of the following:

- Hiring and firing with proper documentation.

- Documenting and reporting all meetings and performance evaluations.

- Documenting and reporting all staff call-outs and frequent late entry

- Placing and receiving orders.

- Taking inventory of the restaurant’s supplies.

- Corresponding and replying regularly to guests by phone or email.

- Scheduling staff, finding coverage, and taking responsibility for all shifts.

- Handling credit card authorizations, large party reservations, and daily sales (gift cards, merchandise).

- Maintaining and updating company rules, checklists, and procedures.

- Training and education.

- Adhering to and teaching the company’s core values and mission.

A floor manager must be able to:

- Stand on their feet for 5+ hours and lift 50 lbs.

- Work weekends and holidays.

- Have open availability and commit to their assigned schedule.

- Cover shifts for other floor managers when needed.

- Remain professional at all times.

- Adhere to all house rules.

- Attend weekly manager meetings and wine meetings
