Our Story

Banán was started by four childhood friends, who dreamed of starting a business together that would provide Hawaii with a healthy affordable meal. Our journey began in a food truck at the base of the iconic Diamond head. After many kitchen dance parties, surf sessions, and of course swirling lots of banana ice cream, we have now expanded to multiple locations around O'ahu. We’ve always dreamed of one day expanding beyond the shores of Oahu. Now it’s finally happening… and we need your help!

Job Overview

Banán is seeking friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic individuals who can be independent and enjoy working well with others. As a team member, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests have a satisfying experience every time they visit our shop by providing hospitality through customer service, crafting soft-serve creations and maintaining a clean and organized shop.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve Banán to customers with a positive attitude! Paying attention to detail and crafting creations that are freshly presented in a fast paced setting is key.

- Provide excellent customer service by educating customers on what we’re all about - answering questions about what we serve on our menu, making recommendations based on customer preferences, and generally spreading positivity as a Banán ambassador.

- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment, including wiping down counters, doing dishes, and restocking supplies. Help with inventory management, including restocking inventory and rotating stock. Adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with state and local standards as well as maintaining a safe environment for other employees and customers.

- Know and understand how to use our POS system as well as third party tablets such as Doordash and Fivestar. Process customer transactions with our POS system, operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.

- Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed. Perform all required to tasks to open the store for service or close the store down after operating hours are over.

- Perform other necessary duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a customer service role preferred but not required! We want to work with people who want to work with us and we will provide the necessary training to ensure all team members feel confident and comfortable with their role.

- Friendly and sincere personality. It’s important to know how to take care of people when they walk through our doors. It’s easy to view them as just another customer, but you have no idea what kind of lasting impact you could make on them - we should always strive to leave customers with a positive experience.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. If you can have fun weathering the storm of a chaotic service, we definitely want to hear from you!

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. We expect every member of the team to be engaged. This means being able to express your ideas, thoughts and opinions just as well as being an active listener when others have the floor. We’re a team and every member is valued.
