Full-Time Housekeeper – Atherton, CA (Near San Francisco)
Schedule: 5 days per week, including some weekends
Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM or 10 AM – 6 PM (flexibility required)
Compensation: $40–$50 per hour + full benefits package + performance-based bonus
A distinguished family in Atherton is seeking a top-tier housekeeper to maintain the pristine condition of their home. The ideal candidate must have an exceptional eye for detail and a passion for keeping a home looking beautiful and presentable at all times. This role requires someone who thrives in a formal, fully staffed household, works seamlessly with others, and understands the importance of presentation, organization, and discretion. The perfect fit will be highly organized, proactive, and adaptable, with a strong ability to follow instructions and anticipate household needs. Additionally, the candidate must be child- and pet-friendly and willing to accommodate a variety of household responsibilities, including errands, personal shopping, and event preparation.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Daily Housekeeping Duties
Dust, polish, vacuum, and mop throughout the residence to maintain a pristine environment.
Regularly clean and maintain antiques, fine furniture, and decorative items.
Make beds daily, replace linens as needed, and ensure all rooms remain neat.
Maintain spotless restrooms, replenish toiletries, and sanitize sinks, tubs, and mirrors.
Ensure windows and glass surfaces are smudge-free.
Keep living spaces tidy, straighten furniture, and maintain an inviting atmosphere.
2. Weekly & Deep-Cleaning Tasks
Perform deep cleaning in hard-to-reach areas, such as behind furniture and light fixtures.
Manage laundry, ensuring proper washing, drying, folding, and organization of linens and clothing.
Keep wardrobes and closets tidy, rotating seasonal clothing as needed.
3. Kitchen Duties
Maintain clean countertops, appliances, and kitchen surfaces daily.
Wash and store dishes neatly.
Check and dispose of expired pantry and refrigerator items.
Assist with table setting and meal preparation as needed.
4. Laundry & Garment Care
Coordinate dry cleaning pick-ups and drop-offs.
Iron, steam, and press clothing to maintain a polished appearance.
Assist with packing/unpacking and seasonal wardrobe organization.
5. Outdoor & Grounds Maintenance
Clean and maintain patio and pool areas.
Ensure outdoor furniture is well-kept and ready for use.
6. Guest & Event Support
Prepare guest rooms with fresh linens, toiletries, and thoughtful amenities.
Assist with event setup, decoration, and post-event cleanup.
7. Security & Inventory Management
Conduct security checks to ensure doors, windows, and locks are secure.
Monitor household supplies and notify the manager when restocking is needed.
