JDA (Architecture & Interiors) provides design & drafting services to builders & homeowners throughout the Bay Area. We are looking to subcontract with a part-time Drafter / Designer to assist us on a number of upcoming renovation / remodel / addition projects.
This would be an ideal job for a young architect that is looking to supplement their 9 to 5 income and get some personal projects in their portfolio, or somebody that is already working freelance / remotely and has the flexibility in their schedule to make site visits, perform as-built drawings as necessary, etc.
The ideal candidate would have:
-A car and the ability to make site visits 1-2 times a week.
-3 to 5 years working experience in residential architecture
-An interest in interior design, finishes, details, etc.
-Proficiency in Revit
Your first projects with the firm would mainly be non-structural kitchen & bath remodels, but you would have direct control of the design, ability to interface directly with the clients, etc.
The Design Associate would be expected to:
-Meet with contractors and homeowners on site to discuss their projects
-Perform as-built measurements of existing bathrooms & kitchens
-Draft existing and proposed electrical and mechanical layout
If we find that we work well together, we will start to get you involved with larger, ground-up construction projects.
