Dana Design Studio is a growing full-service interior design studio seeking an enthusiastic junior designer to grow with us! Projects are varied and range from office building renovations, residential renovations to new residential and commercial construction. With a wide variety of clients throughout the Bay Area, you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of different project types and styles.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborating with principal designer to decide creative direction for each project. Collecting relevant ideas and inspiration on a shared forum.
Construction Documents – Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. The qualified designer will be expected to create floor and furniture plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and sections. Develop space planning concepts and generate required construction documents.
Sourcing relevant FF and E to appoint designed spaces within budget
Possess the ability to produce quality style guides / mood boards for project presentations and develop overall presentation formats including renderings when appropriate.
Producing bids and estimates for clients and bill of materials for each project.
Strong organization and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Must have excellent customer service skills and be comfortable interfacing with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal staff.
Flexibility - Ability to handle change and last-minute alterations of design or scope due to issues including client requests, budget/schedule challenges or added benefits to overall package aesthetically. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, altering priorities when required.
Available for travel as needed to different locations and varying periods of time as needed on a project basis for site surveys, project management, installation, photo shoots, etc.
Qualifications:
Desire to work in a small firm with a great potential for growth
2-3 years of experience in an interior design or architecture firm
Degree in architecture or interior design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, and hand sketching
Portfolio showcasing previous works in residential or commercial interior design
Familiarity with SFDC and local vendors
A professional attitude with the ability and willingness to juggle various tasks
A self-motivated, independent worker
