SUMMARY

Applies principles of accounting to manage key balance sheet accounts and analyze financial information by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

Takes a lead in the month end close process by reviewing journal entries and work papers prepared by staff accountants, ensuring their accuracy and providing guidance as needed.

Prepares journal entries and reconciliations for assigned accounts during month end close.

Helps streamline existing accounting processes by identifying areas that need improvement and proposing efficient solutions.

Assists with resolving complex accounting issues.

Builds, reviews, and distributes financial reports using Workday Adaptive Planning.

Analyzes financial information and trends to ensure accuracy and proposes correcting journal entries if required.

Manages Concur Expense system and responsible for all Concur reporting and accrual needs.

Understands the accounting functions of the ERP system (Infor M3) and helps maintain or modify as needed.

Gathers data and submits filings for annual U.S. census reports.

Assists with special projects as required.

Provides support to external auditors during annual company audit.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; five years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency with MS Office, including advanced Excel skills and intermediate to advanced Access Skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
