Lieff Cabraser Heimann and Bernstein, LLP, a national leader in plaintiffs' class action and multi-plaintiff litigation, has an immediate opening onsite in San Francisco for a highly motivated and proactive accounting coordinator.
SUMMARY
The Intermediate Accounting Coordinator will be responsible for handling moderately complex accounting tasks. Position will work closely with the Sr. Paralegal of Mass Torts to ensure the timely processing of settlement payments to clients and class members and other LCHB vendors for various case matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work closely with Head of Finance to oversee and maintain cost fund and settlement fund accounts
Work closely with the Mass Torts Practice Group senior paralegal to ensure the timely and accurate processing of settlement payments and other case disbursements
Prepare and process payments, including checks, wire transfers, and ACH payments
Document financial transactions by entering accurate account information into accounting software
Maintain and organize financial records, including invoices, payment records, and correspondence
Reconcile bank accounts at month end
Support month-end and year-end close process
Communicate effectively with partners, internal staff and external parties
Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
3+ years of progressive accounting experience with direct exposure to accounting operation duties like AP, AR, and cash reconciliations
Experience with Elite highly desirable
Experience working in a fast-paced technology or professional services environment
SHIFT/WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Shift hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (or 8:00am to 4:00pm), Monday through Friday.
Must be willing to assume additional work hours during busy periods.

Annual salary range is $56,493 - $70,676 (depending on experience).
