We are a sole practitioner CPA firm in San Mateo looking for a part time clerical and tax associate. The position is typically 3 days per week on a regular schedule throughout the year with 5 days per week during tax season (Feb-April). This is an in office only position. Licensees not appropriate.
Job responsibilities include:
Data entry for tax returns
Assembling returns
E-filing and extensions
General office responsibilities
Troubleshooting tech or other machine issues
Maintaining office inventory and client lists
Preferred Qualifications
College degree preferred – Associates or above
Accounting or tax experience – at least 1-2 years preferred
Experience with taxes a plus
Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills
Demonstrated computer skills and tech proficiency – comfortable with Microsoft applications including Outlook,
Word, and some Excel skills. Previous use of ProSystems a plus. Previous use of tax applications a plus
Demonstrated ability to interact with members of the public in a polite and professional manner
Willingness to learn and flexibility in changing priorities, especially during busy times
