We are an established general contractor seeking an experienced accounting manager to oversee all aspects of accounting operations and office administration. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, professional, and capable of managing and mentoring their team. This position will have both hands on and direct supervision over general accounting, payroll, cash management, internal audits, cost accounting, risk management, IT, and office administration and will report directly to the owners.
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage all general accounting functions including month-end close, WIP reporting, Job Costing, Journal entries and account reconciliation.
- Oversee AP, AR, and Payroll ensuring all policies, procedures, and internal controls are followed consistently.
- Oversee day to day banking relationships
- Oversee all audits/reviews of financial, tax, bank, insurance, etc.
- Manage a team of 2 accounting staff and 3 project coordinators
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience along with supervisory experience
- Understanding of construction/project accounting and WIP reporting
- Knowledge of prevailing wage, union and certified payroll reporting
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with American Contractor and Procore a plus
