Payroll Specialist

Robert Half is looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to undertake a temporary assignment with a large, growing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a strong background in payroll administration who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This will be a temporary / contract assignment located in Buellton, California.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process bi-weekly payroll cycles accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulations.

- Calculate wages, deductions, bonuses, and commissions.

- Review timesheets, attendance records, and other inputs for completeness and accuracy.

- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management promptly and professionally.

- Prepare payroll reports, including but not limited to tax filings, wage garnishments, and benefit deductions.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and implement process improvements.

- Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and adhere to data protection policies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role, handling full-cycle payroll processing.

- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office suite, especially Excel.

- Experience using the software Mosaic and UKG is a huge plus!

- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

- Previous ADP experience required.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
