CCWA Water Distribution Technician

The Central Coast Water Authority (CCWA) is a public entity operating a 50 MGD water treatment plant and 120 mile pipeline delivering water from the State Water Project to project participants in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. We are currently seeking a Distribution Technician. Under general supervision of Distribution Supervisor, the Distribution Technician will perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the operation of a potable water distribution system and related facilities and makes repairs and adjustments to equipment as required and works with others to provide high quality treated water for distribution to CCWA participants. This position is located at the CCWA Administrative office in Buellton, California.

Our ideal candidate should have two years of experience in potable water distribution system operation and either a high school diploma or G.E.D. supplemented with technical courses in water treatment plant operations. Possession of a valid California State Water Resources Control Board Treatment Operator Grade D-3 (or higher) Certificate and a valid driver’s class C license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles are required. Possession of a California State Water Resources Control Board Water Distribution Operator Grade T-2 or above certificate are desirable.

The salary range for this position is $86,147 - $105,099 per year.
