Legal Assistant to Attorneys (Assistant/Legal Secretary) in our Santa Barbara office. Our law firm with Estate Planning, Labor & Employment, Litigation and Business & Real Estate groups, is seeking a full-time experienced and detail-oriented Assistant to join our esteemed team. The Assistant will play a crucial role in providing legal and administrative support to our attorneys, ensuring the efficient operation of our practice and the delivery of exceptional client service. Ideal candidate has 2 years prior law firm and/or office experience.

Compensation: $20-$40 per hour, commensurate with level of experience.

Responsibilities:

- Assist attorneys in drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents.

- Manage and maintain client files, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.

- Communicate with clients, both in-person and over the phone, addressing inquiries and providing updates on case status.

- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and recordkeeping.

- Assist in the preparation of documents for execution and notarization.

- Maintain and update the firm’s document management system with accurate and up-to-date information.

- Uphold client confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.

- Collaborate effectively with attorneys, fellow assistants, and support staff to ensure seamless workflow.

- Provide administrative support as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the firm.

Qualifications:

- Prior experience as an administrative assistant with experience in a law firm is preferred.

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Understanding of client confidentiality and ethical standards in the legal field.

- Team player with a collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.

- Hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with full benefits including paid off-street parking.
