The Santa Barbara Restaurant Collective is in search of a new GM for our most recent concept. SBRC's La Cantina Restaurant & Bar is a Mexican Restaurant, serving up flavorful dishes, and craft cocktails (emphasis on the big bar, and abundance of TV's for sports).
We'd like to HIRE A GENERAL MANAGER ASAP.
JOB DETAILS:
- Hire, train, and retain employees — customer service is imperative
- Handle complaints, stressful situations, and conversely, emphasize positive experiences and interact with guests
- Be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant
- Collaborate with chefs, bartenders, BOH
- Manage inventory: organize and take stock of restaurant supplies
- Generate financial reports — write daily budget reports on revenue and costs
- Handle Admin Duties like payroll, paying vendor invoices, etc
- Provide positive and constructive feedback to all employees — remember it is a team environment, and other employees will look to you for answers, support, and guidance. It is your job to be open, welcoming, approachable, etc.
- Be authentic, create a fun ambiance and environment
- Get creative and don't be afraid to present ideas for operational improvement or share your ideas to increase sales & generate revenue
- Be able to collaborate with the Social Media Manager to support promotions, content creation, etc, as well as managers of other restaurant concepts under SBRC
YOU MUST:
- Have 4+ years in the Restaurant Industry (hospitality in general, but must have serious restaurant experience, beyond serving or bartending)
- Have at least 3 years of operating a business and/or restaurant management ()
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Speak English fluently
- Have a welcoming, uplifting demeanor — YOU ARE THE FACE OF THE RESTAURANT.
- Have the ability to 6-7 days/nights a week
- Have a passion for working with people & managing others
- Quick learner, team player, honest, responsible, respectful, and kind. Let your personality shine!
A PLUS IF:
- You have experience using POS systems, like TOAST
- You speak some Spanish
- You have web experience (WordPress)
- You have experience developing a restaurant beverage program, loyalty programs, email lists + promos
- Have a degree or certifications relevant to Business Management, Operations, Hospitality / Restaurants
