Description Boutique employment law firm has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant! This Legal Assistant will join a team of litigation support staff and support 2-3 attorneys with all phases of the litigation lifecycle for employment law matters. This role involves assisting with trial preparation, document preparation, and discovery management. This position will require on-site presence in San Jose, CA on a full-time basis. If you're looking to grow your litigation skills under tenured mentorship, this is the position for you! The ideal candidate will have 1-3+ years of civil litigation experience. Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to our team of litigators.
Assist in preparing, filing, and serving legal documents.
Coordinate the discovery process and prepare related legal documents.
Calendar court dates and deadlines.
Assist with legal research, fact-checking, and gathering of relevant case material.
Maintain orderly and comprehensive physical and electronic case files.
Draft and compose routine letters, memos, and legal correspondence.
Communicate effectively with lawyers, clients, and court personnel.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A minimum of one year of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in a litigation law setting.
Proficiency in legal terminology and California court procedures.
Strong proficiency in using diverse legal and office software applications.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Paralegal certification or equivalent is a plus but not required.
