DescriptionThe Alternatives Operations Associate will assist with day-to-day processing for the Alternative Investment Platform. They will be part of the initial build participating in the creation of written operational procedures outlining the “how” for Advisors and Clients. The role will support management of the processes of onboarding managers, investors, KYC/AML requirements, Bank and SEC regulatory reporting, Fund Audits, and Client Reporting. This direct report to the Lead Platform Manager will work with Compliance, Operations, and the Advisors continuously. Process workflows will be documented and maintained by this operations person. Change Management will be a formal process supported by this role and help maintain a high standard of care is followed for Advisors, Clients and External Managers. This person will support the building of the initial infrastructure workings with internal and external constituents in support of the growth of capacity to become a multi-billion AUM platform integrated into the Wealth Platform. The operations associate will be working closely with the platform lead, sr. operations as well as technology to automate as much as possible based on priority, budget, and demand from the client base. The role will also be assigned to transitions when a team comes onboard, and then will revert over to the Alts platform when we are boarding a Fund. Boston, San Francisco, or NYC office will be the main location for the role, and from time to time they may travel for transitions or for a new fund launch. Primary responsibilities include

Responsible for onboarding approved external managers to the platform.

Responsible for the Subscription/Redemption processes for Clients investing in Alternative Products.

Responsible for addressing KYC/AML and all regulatory elements for Clients.

Responsible for creating and maintaining the Operational Procedure Manual for all critical operational processes.

Liaison with Compliance and Risk Management.

Escalate unresolved issues to the Lead Manager for review and closure in a timely manner.

Responsible for managing the Audit/Tax Firm relationships to ensure tax reporting is executed efficiently.

Responsible for Operational Change Management.

Responsible for performance being provided on each of the Alternative Investment Products.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

Experience with Operational Process for Alternative Investment Products.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Excellent client service and communication abilities.

3-5 years minimum experience with Alternative Investment Operations.

Experience at an Accounting firm a plus

Experience working with Subscriptions and Redemptions preferred.

Knowledge of the Private Fund Rules which have been updated in 2023 preferred.

Knowledge of KYC, AML, and SEC Requirements preferred.

Experience working on implementation projects at a large organization is important.

Experience with performance calculations for Private Funds.

Education/Licenses

Bachelors Degree required.

Masters degree a plus.

Have or obtain Series 7, 65, and over time a Series 24
