Accountant II

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in San Francisco, California. This role will primarily focus on overseeing assigned general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. You will be expected to perform in-depth analysis of financial data, collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure compliance with accounting policies, and support external audits. This position also involves working on international entities, all of which follow US GAAP accounting for reporting purposes.Responsibilities: Oversee assigned general ledger accounting activities, including the preparation of journal entries, accruals, account reconciliation and flux analysis for payroll, prepaids, and general & administrative expenses. Perform in-depth analysis of financial data, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accrual processes and provide business insights. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements. Execute compliance with internal controls to mitigate financial risks. Support external audits by providing accurate and timely information. Stay up to date with accounting standards and best practices, and provide guidance to the finance team. Conduct regular review of accounting processes to identify areas for efficiencies. Perform ad hoc financial and special projects as needed to support our rapid growth.Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Familiarity with standard accounting procedures and compliance Experience with payroll processing and review Basic understanding of finance principles Ability to provide workstation support Familiarity with external audits and reconciliations Knowledge of ERP Ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks as required Proficiency with general ledger and account reconciliation Experience with expense reporting and journal entries Strong communication skills Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies Ability to execute tasks according to best practices Commitment to ensure compliance with internal control measures Knowledge of risk mitigation strategies and entity formation CPA certification is preferred Experience with management of fixed assets.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
