Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced estimating manager in the construction industry with at least 5 years of experience estimating, reading plans and negotiating contracts for glass projects. Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating and project management for glass projects.

Proficiency in estimating and reading plans for accurate pricing

Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with suppliers and subcontractors

Knowledge of construction site operations and effective cost control measures

Ability to lead a team, analyze project requirements, and manage multiple contracts simultaneously

Duties

Oversee the estimating department, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of cost estimates for construction projects.

Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and required resources.

Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam for takeoffs and cost calculations.

Develop detailed cost control measures to monitor project budgets effectively.

Negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.

Collaborate with project management teams to align estimates with project timelines and deliverables.

Conduct regular reviews of estimates against actual project costs to improve future accuracy.

Train and mentor junior estimators in best practices for construction estimating.

Skills

Proficient in construction estimating techniques and methodologies.

Strong knowledge of construction management principles.

Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure advantageous contracts.

Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols.

Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of projects.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating independent problem-solving skills.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.
