JOB POSITION- CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN: Ortiz Corporation is a small general engineering contractor in National City, San Diego County, CA. We aim to create a safe, fulfilling work environment where construction professionals can flourish and improve. With over 40 years of experience, we have proudly worked with various Public works agencies in San Diego County, specializing in underground sewer and water installation. Our skilled professionals have completed numerous projects using specialized equipment and dedicated staff.
ISO: A full-time Construction Foreman specializing in (Underground Pipeline Utilities) with 5 years of practical experience in Underground Wet Utilities- Sewer and Water pipe installation.
RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Project Foreman, you will have 5+ years of Foreman experience in Underground Sewer & Water Construction and effortlessly:
Manage the overall project schedule and maintain within the budget.
Work with the project manager daily to communicate production goals, quality specs, unforeseen issues, and ideas to help achieve project goals (e.g., crew, means and methods, material or equipment use, extra or out-of-scope work, etc.).
Complete Daily Reports
Monitor and manage crew productivity.
Analyze production results and apply corrective accordingly.
Forecast and communicate equipment, material, and workforce needs.
Correctly assigning cost codes to all labor & Mrtl.
Safely meet pipe installation daily quota.
Maintain housekeeping.
Hold and document daily crew Tailgate meetings.
Practice and enforce safety situational awareness per OSHA compliance.
Utilize knowledge of construction, engineering principles, and best management practices (BMPs)
Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and permits.
Apply prior supervisory experience to direct a work crew to carry out assigned tasks successfully.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, clients, and the general public.
Prioritize tasks and communicate in a timely and effective manner.
Utilize Mathematical skills, including weights and measurement conversions.
Communicate effectively- oral and written.
Sit, stand, and walk in varying and uneven terrain; occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
Work hours outside of regular work hours, i.e., nights/weekends as needed.
Operate a Computer
Look out for, teach & treat crewmembers with patience and respect.
Other duties as needed.
