Position: Director of Sales & Business Development

Company: Mangrov (a subsidiary of Tower Paddle Boards)

Salary: $40K/yr + commissions + stock options. Extraordinary performers will rise quickly. Non-performers will be fired.

About Mangrov

Just like 30 years ago, when local specialty shop owners handpicked the best products, our company, Mangrov.com, is developing a new kind of eCommerce store that helps shoppers quickly discover just the 'top 3' products in any category, as selected by our expert shopkeepers, and then buy directly from brands. We take no cut of sales.

We’re building a future where finding the best products is effortless, consumers can save up to 50% or more, and brands enjoy free customer acquisition.

What we’re building is officially called the Mangrov Alliance because we are aggregating the world’s best brands, in terms of value, quality, and/or innovation, and getting them to throw in together to help us build a better future for them where they enjoy free customer acquisition (as opposed to today’s world where they have to give 50% of their revenues to Amazon, Google, online ad channels, or off-line retailers). So when we sell to them, it's really asking them to join our "alliance" of great brands building a better future for themselves.

We are currently in the final stages of Silicon Valley based seed accelerator Founder Institute.

Your Position

We’re looking to teach a sharp, hard working new grad the process of customer development and building a disruptive company. This position will involve business development and sales. While we’re a small company and your duties will surely vary over time, this position involves a commissioned B2B sales component so we need a person that is very comfortable tackling that. You’ll essentially be giving handpicked amazing brands a free listing, and an award for being among the “top 3” in their product category worldwide, and then you’ll use the principle of reciprocity to get a percentage of them to upgrade to a $95/mo enhanced listing. You’ll also be researching and determining the best of class products across a wide array of product categories (initially focused on watersports & sporting goods, then expanding out from there) and building out our site’s free basic product listings.

We are extremely selective in our hiring process. As we grow the company, we will surround you with highly competent, capable, and dynamic individuals, and we expect that out of you as well. We prefer to hire smart, hard working, exceptional people that fit our company culture and train them.

We work out of the offices in our beautiful waterfront Tower Beach Club (side business doing events and weddings).
