Position Overview:
We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated Business-to-Business Outside Sales
Representative to join our team at Trimlight San Diego. This individual will be responsible for
driving sales primarily in the business-to-business (B2B) sector, including commercial
properties, offices, and other businesses that could benefit from our permanent lighting solutions.
The role will focus on generating new business through prospecting, cold calling, and in-person
demonstrations. While the primary focus is B2B sales, there will also be opportunities to
generate residential sales as well.
Key Responsibilities:
1. B2B Sales Generation:
o Prospect, identify, and pursue new business opportunities with commercial
clients, businesses, and property managers within the San Diego area.
o Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in various
industries, including retail, office buildings, shopping centers, and hospitality.
o Conduct in-person sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase
Trimlight permanent security, accent, and holiday lighting solutions.
2. Cold Calling & Prospecting:
o Identify and target potential clients through research, networking, and cold
calling.
o Build a strong pipeline of leads and develop tailored sales strategies to meet the
specific needs of each potential business customer.
o Follow up on leads generated through marketing efforts, referrals, and direct
outreach.
3. Residential Sales Opportunities:
o While the primary focus is on B2B sales, actively seek out residential sales
opportunities and generate leads where applicable.
o Conduct in-person consultations with residential customers to showcase
Trimlight’s lighting solutions and create proposals for installation.
4. Customer Relationship Management:
o Build and nurture long-term relationships with business clients to encourage
repeat sales and referrals.
o Provide exceptional customer service and maintain high levels of customer
satisfaction throughout the sales process and beyond.
o Address any questions, concerns, or requests from customers promptly and
professionally.
5. Sales Targets & Reporting:
o Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets as outlined by management.
o Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline
progress using CRM software.
o Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to the CEO to track progress and adjust
strategies as needed.
6. Market Knowledge & Competitor Analysis:
o Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new products, and competitive offerings to
maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
o Continuously assess customer needs and recommend customized solutions that
best fit their requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in outside sales, with a focus on business-
to-business (B2B) sales. Experience in the lighting, construction, or home improvement
industry is a plus but not required.
Sales Skills: Proven track record of generating sales through prospecting, cold calling,
and in-person meetings.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the
ability to effectively engage and influence key decision-makers.
Self-Motivated & Goal-Oriented: Strong drive to meet and exceed sales targets with
minimal supervision.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify customer needs and offer tailored lighting
solutions.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple
accounts and projects simultaneously.
Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using CRM software to manage leads, sales
activities, and customer information.
Valid Driver’s License & Insurance: Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within
the San Diego territory to meet clients and conduct demonstrations.
