Independent Contractor: Land Acquisition & Leasing
A leading privately owned mineral developer in the USA is actively looking for an Independent Contractor to be responsible for sourcing and initiating Land Acquisition & Leasing for surface and mineral rights for the company's development projects. This includes identifying potential properties, negotiating with landowners, and closing on purchases and or leases. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of raw land acquisition and mineral leasing, as well as experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
Identify potential properties for lease and acquisition
Negotiate with landowners and secure purchase or lease agreements
Close on purchases and or leases
Manage the land development process, including zoning and permitting
Stay up-to-date on market trends and regulatory changes
Develop and implement land acquisition strategies
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in real estate, business, or a related field
Real Estate license is beneficial but not required
5+ years of experience in raw land acquisition
Strong understanding of land use, real estate, and land development and leasing principles
Experience in market research, financial analysis, and planning
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and land acquisition software
Resident in Imperial County, or close by in San Diego, Riverside, or Yuma counties.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary plus performance bonus plan commensurate with the experience of the candidate.
