MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – Regular, Full-Time

Toray Membrane, A Worldwide manufacturer of high-quality water treatment products in North County San Diego, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support its operations based in Poway, California. This is a regular, full-time position and reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position will be assigned to an 8-hour shift, after training. Use of PPE is required at all times.

Job Details:

Wage: $33-$43.00/hour, depending on experience. If assigned to either 2nd Shift or Night Shift, a $2/hour night shift differential will be added.

Shifts Available: 1st Shift (Monday thru Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm) and 2nd Shift (Monday thru Friday, 4:00pm to 12:30am). Night Shift available from 6:00pm to 6:00am on a rotating 24/7 shift schedule.

Training Period/Schedule: First 90-days from date of hire, Monday thru Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm. After successful completion of the 90-day training period, candidate will be assigned to either 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, or Night Shift.

Essential Duties:

Regularly monitor, examine and check the operation of all machinery and troubleshoot any electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment issues.

Perform intermediate preventative and predictive maintenance on all machinery and equipment utilizing hand or power tools and testing equipment, if applicable.

Perform minor building maintenance and repairs that includes electrical, construction and security equipment.

Fulfill and maintain work orders on a daily and weekly basis. This includes fully documenting, in report format, all preventative, predictive and/or maintenance measures taken, clearly and in full detail, for historical and future maintenance purposes.

Trouble shoot electrical and electronic controls on manufacturing equipment for rebuilding, repairing or fabrication purposes.

Other duties and responsibilities not included above but related to the position, when assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting items weighing between 5 to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 40-55 pounds occasionally.

May stand for long periods of time.

Frequent work on ladders and scaffolding.

All candidates considered for hire must successfully complete a post-offer background check and an employment health screen as well as maintain regular, reliable attendance in accordance with company policy.

Job Details:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing required routine preventative maintenance and repairs, as well as installations and alterations of company equipment, machinery, and fixtures, including electrical systems per the guidelines and specifications set by the company. This also include regular inspection of the company’s facilities, performing needed repairs and installations when necessary.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on related work experience in a manufacturing environment in one or more building trades plus any combination of additional education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities required for this role. Three (3) years of experience as a skilled electrician or other combination of work experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Must be able to read blueprints and schematics; possess strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills; be highly motivated and self-directed; possess a keen attention to detail as well as proven analytical and troubleshooting capabilities. Must also be able to maintain cooperative and collaborative work relationships with others.

Certification in electromechanical, PLC, as well as forklift, Genie boom and scissor lift operations is preferred but not required.
