TRAVELING CONSTRUCTION HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

As a traveling construction Heavy Equipment Operator, you will travel with a skilled crew to build world-class water features in the United States and Mexico. You will use your skills and experience to prepare the ground where the water feature will be built. You will be operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, dozers, and rubber tire loaders. Other crew duties include sizing and laying down lake liner, PVC pipe installation of various sizes up to 36” diameter, installing chicken wire over the liner, preparing the work area according to the plans, and pumping concrete to create lakes, ponds, waterfalls, and bridges.

Looking for:

- Skilled Equipment Operators (Dozer operators specifically)

Preferred Experience:

- Dozer

- Loader

- Excavator and Mini Excavator

- Backhoe

- Skidsteer

- Trencher

- Compactor

- Large trucks such as Water Trucks

- Forklift

- Able to work with Slope lasers to obtain topographic/grading elevations

REQUIREMENTS:

- Willingness and ability to travel and be away on a job for extended time

- 1 to 2 years of operating experience minimum

- Valid Driver's License required

- Your own reliable transportation

- Physically able to work on your feet for 8+ hours/day

- Ability to lift 50+ pounds

- Maintain good attendance record and be punctual to work

- Ability to properly, efficiently, and safely work with construction hand tools, and gas powered equipment

Bilingual a plus - not required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport it

- Operate heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction site

- Inspect equipment before and after use

- Perform daily maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and fueling

- Perform safety checks on equipment

- Train on and abides by company policies and safety standards

- Report needs for large repairs or safety concerns

- Attend routine meetings with Supervisors and Management

- Follow directions given by the Supervisor

- Work as part of a team as well as work efficiently without supervision

- Training new crew members in the safe operation of equipment

- Properly excavate, backfill, and compact trenches

- Safely load and secure pipe and irrigation parts for transport in work vehicles

- Communicate effectively with Supervisor and Crew

- Assist with accident and incident reports

- Perform other construction duties as needed

- Represent the Company’s best interest and maintain professionalism

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION:

- Wage: $35/hr (based on experience)

- Daily per diem (for every day away on a project)
