General Summary: Under direct supervision of and reports to the Facilities Manager. Facilities Landscaper is responsible for performing skilled landscaping, with a strong understanding of outdoor irrigation and fertilization. Responsible for sprinkler systems, landscaping and grounds surroundings.
Relevant Experience Or Requirements: Skillful and able to operate walk behind mower, line trimmer and blower for daily landscaping tasks. Knowledgeable and able to use variety of tools, both hand and powered for daily facilities tasks. Proven history of irrigation experience, concepts, components, maintenance, and repairs. Responsible of installation of new plant material, replacement of old plant material, pruning trees, mowing and maintaining all other plant material as needed. Installation and maintenance of non-vegetative items (fences, gutters, drains, concrete). Understands and complies with departmental policies and procedures. Many of the job responsibilities will be conducted in exterior areas of the operation, such as edging and fertilizing lawns, weeding and trimming of hedges and shrubs. Activities will be carried out in year-round weather conditions. Clean and maintains all tools and equipment. Work hours will fluctuate depending on projects, emergency situations, daily facilities and landscaping tasks. Adhere to Facilities Department policies and procedures, prioritizing safe work practices and operational efficiency. Maintain all facility gutters and drains year-round. Assist the Facilities Department with any other assignments.
Education Level: High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an experienced landscaper/laborer.
