Hi there!
We are looking for a driven Assistant General Manager to help lead the team at one of San Diego’s most ambitious new restaurants: Wildland.
Located in Carlsbad Village, right down the street from our first two restaurants, Campfire and Jeune et Jolie (Michelin 1-Star), and just a few blocks from the ocean, Wildland debuted in December of 2024 as a sprawling restaurant, bar and bakery, open night and day. Inspired by the natural landscape and vibrant community of North County, and celebrating the creative culture of California by bringing bold ideas to timeless traditions, Wildland represents an original perspective on the all-day, community restaurant.
We created Wildland as our ideal restaurant for the every day. To begin, we asked ourselves, what all-day restaurant do we wish already existed? What could we imagine? Well, of course there would be super delicious food, but food that you could get quickly. We wouldn’t want reservations, no barriers to entry, just show up whenever you wanted, with however many people you wanted. It would need to have an in-house bakery, wood-fired pizza, fresh pasta and rotisserie chicken, and of course feature produce from some of our favorite local farms. It would need those things simply because we love all of those things. It would need a large central bar, but one without any stools, so that you could just stroll in and pony up for a quick drink, or hang for as long as you wanted. We would want massive speakers to pump out a vibe, playing records from artists like Townes Van Zandt, Lou Reed, Stereophonics, Bonnie Rait, and maybe even a little Womack & Womack. And it would have a lot of seating, indoors and out. Oh, and a massive coastal oak tree outside. That would be cool. Most of all, it would be a welcoming place for the neighborhood, a place where we would want to spend time with our friends, our colleagues, our kids. Any time of day, from breakfast to dinner. We liked that idea a lot. So that’s what we made.
Wildland is big and bustling, with nearly 200 seats and a team of over 100 incredible people, the restaurant requires strong, passionate and experienced leaders who crave the joys of hospitality and of bringing people together to do work that is meaningful and important. So we are looking for an AGM that will help to lead a large and diverse team of passionate people, and who shares in the vision of creating delicious and hospitable experiences for our guests, taking great care of our employees, and doing something that we believe is both impactful and important: ensuring that the time every person spends with us, is time well-spent.
The right candidate for this role will have a lot of experience leading high quality restaurants, demonstrated success leading, coaching, mentoring and inspiring their teams, creating cultures of accountability and of quality, as well as possessing a thorough understanding of restaurant administration and finances.
If this all sounds incredibly exciting, that’s because it is. If you think you could be the right person for the job and want to find out more, please reach out. We’ll be looking forward to speaking with you.
