POSITION SUMMARY:

As a busser you will assist Server in providing quality food and beverage service to guests, according to restaurant specifications, courteously and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of tables, service areas and equipment. Stock all wares and equipment need for service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Preparation

Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization all service areas in accordance to departmental procedures.

Replenish wares in wait station throughout shift.

Monitor and maintain cleanliness of assigned tables.

Complete all assigned opening side duties.

Clean coffee machine and other beverage equipment as assigned to the established standards.

Complete all assigned closing side duties.

Follow the maintenance program and cleaning schedule as assigned.

Attend all Restaurant/bar staff meetings as scheduled.

Report any damages, maintenance problems or safety hazards to the supervisor.

Bus

Clean and reset tables immediately after guest departs in accordance with departmental procedures.

Remove and transport soiled wares from tables to the dishwashing area as assigned. Separate soiled wares and food according to procedures.

Handle all wares carefully to prevent breakage and loss while adhering to safety practices and procedures.

Adhere to break compliance policy.

Customer Service

Serve non-alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with departmental specifications.

Serve bread and butter to guests in accordance to departmental specifications.

Place additional wares on tables as directed.

Refill non-alcoholic beverages according to procedures.

Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever the time of day.

Maintain positive guest relations at all times.

Be familiar with all restaurant services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquires accurately.

Handle guest complaints following the five step procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Assist in service of food as assigned.

Required Knowledge Base

Table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and proper table set-ups.

Correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.

Maintain complete knowledge of, and comply with, all departmental policies/service procedures.

Maintain knowledge of, and strictly abide by, state liquor regulations.

Adhere to all Health Department, sanitation, and safety regulations as required by the restaurant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function from the list above satisfactorily. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of experience as a Busser.

Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

Ability to count.

Food Handlers Certification

Team player – need to be willing to lend a helping hand to any teammate at any time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.

Certification in CPR.

Prior training in guest relations.
