Job Description:
The Head Chef for our meal prep company is responsible for overseeing the entire kitchen operation, ensuring that meals are prepared to the highest standard, efficiently, and in line with dietary needs and company goals. This role involves leadership, innovation, and operational excellence in meal planning, recipe development, quality control, and team management.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare all meats with proper weighing, trimming, seasoning and cooking.
-Prepare, season, and cook all vegetables.
-Prepare pasta sauces and carbohydrate items.
-Assure prep list and cook list are complete each day.
-Monitor cooks and sous chef that all tasks are being completed correctly.
-Properly package meals for consumers.
-Weigh and Measure out all ingredients.
-Package orders for customers.
Skills & Qualifications:
-Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment, preferably in meal prep, catering, or a similar setting.
-In-depth knowledge of food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen management.
-Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
-Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
-Strong understanding of dietary needs and restrictions, including vegan, gluten-free, and other common food preferences.
-Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
-Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
-Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
