About Us: At Osteria Tavi, we pride ourselves on creating a truly delicious Italian dining experience with the personality of of our local community of Encinitas. Our menu features time-honored recipes and innovative dishes, all made from scratch using the finest ingredients from our Sicilian chef, Armando Galasso. We believe in respecting the food and honoring the culinary traditions of Italy while pushing the boundaries of flavor and presentation.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of our signature homemade pastas, breads, and pizza dough.
Execute menu items with precision, maintaining our high standards of quality and consistency.
Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure a seamless service.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a cook, preferably in an Italian restaurant or similar setting.
Strong understanding of Italian culinary techniques and ingredients.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
A deep respect for food and a commitment to culinary excellence.
Eagerness to learn and grow, with a goal of advancing to a sous chef position.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
