EXPERIENCED BARISTA: good pay, good schedule

California, San diego, 92101 San diego USA
Aplica ya

Bivouac Ciderworks, a craft cidery, restaurant & taproom, community space & CAFE in NORTH PARK, is seeking an EXPERIENCED/LEAD BARISTA to join our front of house team at the BIVOUAC ADVENTURE LODGE.

Our team is small but mighty. We want people who WANT TO BE HERE and have FUN, who like each other and their job, LOVE COFFEE/ TEA (and cider!), and who understand our common vision and mission and want to grow personally and professionally. We value competence, credibility, reliability, and accountability.

We source our coffee from women-owned/led farms in Mexico, coffee roasted by Caffe Calabria in North Park, and we do not serve drinks in disposable cups in furtherance of our mission toward sustainability AND community engagement. Our coffee service is meant to be a hospitality experience, rather than a quick drink on the run.

“It’s not an opportunity unless you’re ready for it.”

If you have work ethic, drive, ambition, competence, curiosity and a positive attitude, this company can offer you the opportunity to rise to the next level in any career path you choose. We’re building something really special, and we want you to be a part of it!

POSITION, PAY, and SCHEDULE

We are currently accepting resumes for BARISTA/ LEAD BARISTA. We generally do not distinguish between most positions and do not have a traditional hierarchy, as we all do everything necessary and contribute to the needs of the team, but we are looking for a person with specific interest and experience in growing a unique coffee program and seeking and sharing advanced knowledge of coffee & tea service, and menu development, while participating in overall cider bar and food service program.

Position available $18 to $26+ per hour (hourly plus tips), depending on role, experience and volume of business. Full-time and part-time positions available.

Desired availability range: 8am-5pm, Tuesday-Sunday (most shifts will fall within these hours).

PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME positions available, but prefer that this is your primary job.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Positive attitude and desire to be a contributing member of a team. Desire to stay and grow with the company.

Depending on role, the years of experience and skills required will vary, but looking for someone with extensive coffee knowledge and training, recipe development experience, latte art, ordering experience, and a serious love for customer service and hospitality. We appreciate Starbucks training, but also desire some smaller/craft coffee knowledge and experience.

Willingness to learn and follow directions, think outside the box and participate in innovation, utilize common sense and proactive thinking, and willingness to teach others.

Open minded/open to R&D, experimentation.

Great communication skills required.

Food handlers or managers card desired.

Food handlers and Responsible beverage server number will be required upon starting.

Able to lift heavy things, work on feet for long hours, bend/lift/twist.

Plays well with others.

MUST MOVE FAST and be proactive.

Cider knowledge a plus, but we will teach you everything you need to know about cider. Everyone who works at Biv is a brand ambassador for the company, so must be excited to learn and participate in Biv’s mission.
