Resident Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Resident Engineer for immediate employment in San Diego, CA.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Serve as the project lead in the field, overseeing the construction management staff on rail-related projects.Ensure successful delivery of the project and implementation of project plans and specifications.Act as the main point of contact for the client, maintaining clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.Coordinate with various stakeholders, including Metrolink, UPRR, SANDAG, BNSF, NCTD, SBCTA, and LA Metro, to ensure project compliance with their respective standards and requirements.Manage and mentor the project team, assigning tasks, and providing guidance to ensure efficient project execution.Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance.Review and approve contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders in a timely manner.Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and meeting minutes.Develop and implement strategies to mitigate project risks and resolve conflicts.Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as railroad-specific safety standards.Manage project budget and schedule, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.Facilitate effective communication between the design team, contractors, and other project stakeholders.Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction management processes and best practices within the organization.
