Qualcomm’s Government Affairs team is seeking an AI experienced professional with a combination of technical and policy experience to support strategic AI policy initiatives and advocacy. You will play a meaningful role in advancing Qualcomm’s position as a leading AI innovator by collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate alignment on public policy strategies and by helping drive internal execution. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Government Affairs, Business, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Engineering, Legal, or related field. 7+ years of Government Affairs, Communications, Industry Associations, or related work experience.Responsibilities
Serve as a bridge between the Government Affairs and AI product/engineering teams, facilitating the integration of input from key internal stakeholders into policy positions and advocacy strategies.
Serve as day-to-day project manager for various AI policy projects.
Assist in the development of AI policy initiatives, offering strategic insights to inform public policy strategies and engagements, and ensuring internal business and engineering teams remain informed about policy developments that may impact products and operations.
Provide support for AI projects through public policy focused guidance on new applications, features, functionalities, and initiatives. This includes interpreting the business and technological implications of public policy developments and communicating them to relevant teams.
Identify, monitor, analyze, and disseminate information on relevant policy trends, legislative initiatives, industry developments, and issues critical to the company and its AI products.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, including legal, product development, communications, and standards teams.
Support engagement with policymakers and civil society on matters pertinent to AI initiatives.
Qualifications
8+ years public policy experience, with a focus on technology policy.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, public policy, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of AI technologies and associated policy issues/risks, including safety, bias, fairness and transparency.
Familiarity with existing and emerging AI regulations and best practices globally.
Familiarity with international standard bodies and emerging AI standards.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable policies.
Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects, preferably in AI-related domains.
