Description Our client, a reputable organization in the education sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Clerk to join their finance team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering learners and educators.The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing the organization’s accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments while maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations.Key Responsibilities:

Review, code, and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper approvals.

Prepare and issue payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments.

Reconcile vendor statements, address discrepancies, and respond to inquiries.

Assist in the preparation of accounts payable reports and month-end close processes.

Maintain accurate records of transactions and documentation for audits.

Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth workflows and resolve issues.

Monitor compliance with organizational policies and financial regulations.

Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2+ years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting functions.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and strong Excel skills.

Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-service mindset.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in the education sector or with non-profits.

Familiarity with fund accounting principles or grants management.

Knowledge of financial compliance standards and audit processes.
