Construction Project Engineer/Manager

General Overview:

General Contractor is seeking to hire an experienced Project Engineer/Manager to assist managing waterworks projects. The Project Engineer assists the Senior Project Manager and superintendent in the development and coordination of all documentation as well as planning, coordinating and executing all aspects and phases of the construction process. This position maintains a high degree of knowledge of their project plan and specifications.

We are a General Contractor that specializes in Water and Wastewater projects and heavy Civil projects. We mainly work on projects for Water Districts, Cities, Counties, the State of California and the Federal Government.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction project management.

Previous water/wastewater experience.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Strong understanding of construction processes, project management methodologies, and relevant laws and regulations.

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in project management and construction software, such as Microsoft Project, Procore, AutoCAD and Bluebeam. Scheduling software such as Primavera is preferred but not required

Proficient use of a computer and tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Office, Outlook)

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and coordination of construction projects, from the initial design phase to close-out.

Create submittal register and request and review submittals required per contract documents.

Create and review RFI’s and manage responses for cost and schedule changes.

Manage the budget and ensure that the project stays within budgetary constraints.

Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Oversee the work of contractors and subcontractors and ensure that they are performing work according to plans and specifications.

Identify potential problems and propose solutions to ensure that the project stays on track.

Monitor progress and provide regular updates to Senior Project Manager and clients.

Manage the change order process and work with team to finalize.

Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure that the work is being performed to the required standards.

Read and understand the plans and specifications-regularly.

Must be willing and able to travel to project assignments. Most projects are in SoCal.

Might be required to work full-time from the field office at the jobsite.
