Sensory Motor Coach

Non-Exempt, Part-time

Brain Balance Achievement Centers seeks a dynamic Coach who possesses outstanding interpersonal skills and coaching experience with students with special needs, particularly autism, ADHD, defiance, sensory processing disorder, dyslexia, etc. Our afterschool program works with students struggling socially, behaviorally, academically, and/or developmentally by addressing the cause, not the symptoms. Learn more about our program at brainbalancesandiego.com. The Coach is responsible for executing individualized programs. In addition, the Coach should maintain communication with parents and staff and support program development and operations as needed. The Coach reports to the Center Director.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Motivate and lead students through their individualized Brain Balance program by motivating students ages 4-24 to complete a series of physical and sensory motor exercises and academic skills training

Operations

Community relations, as needed

Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Bilingual preferred, particularly Spanish

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Exercise Science, or related field

Direct experience working with children with special needs (ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, defiance, learning disabilities, etc.)

Backgrounds in physical training, physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), behavioral interventions such as ABA, or psychology a plus

Encourages open communication with staff and parents through active listening

Excellent communication skills

Organized and detail-oriented

Creative problem solver

Patient, compassionate, and energetic

Team player

Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

Hours: Part-time; 0-25 hours/week; San Diego and Chula Vista center; opportunities for growth
