Coastal Christian Academy is looking for Preschool Teacher

Job Summary:

The Teacher has primary responsibility for general supervision and management of a class of 10-15 children, ages 2-5, with a maximum of 12 children per day.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be seeking to grow and walk with the Lord daily

Must be a sensitive and mature individual able to relate well to children and adults

Must hold a minimum of 12 or more units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from an accredited college

A one-year minimum of teaching experience in a child care center is highly desired

Must have a vision for the direction and advancement of the preschool

Must be a team player

Must have completed mandated child abuse reporter training

Must have current CPR/First Aid card

Proof of up to date immunizations

Valid driver's license or state ID card, and social security card

Responsibilities

Assuming primary responsibility for children. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Planning and implementing the program for the classroom in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the school and the state of California.

Designing the program to meet the needs of the individual child; treating each child with dignity and respect. Emphasis must be placed on teaching biblical values in all areas of the preschool program

Keeping the classroom and space you use neat, free of clutter, and clean. This includes preparing for and cleaning up after all activities.

Setting up and cleaning up mealtimes and nap times.

Supervising the children at all times including the playground. Planning structured outside activities is required.

Meeting the physical requirements necessary for the job including: lifting children (if needed), diapering, setting out and putting away beds, setting up and putting away playground toys and equipment, getting down on the children’s level to communicate with them better, sitting on the floor to read to or play with the children, get to distressed or injured children fast and with ease, etc.

Displaying children’s art and work samples in a pleasing manner.

Completing yearly student evaluations. (Original to Parent/Copy to student portfolio)

Assisting the Director and staff in parent-school relationships, including parent conferences and attendance at parent meetings, parent workshops, and meet and greet, etc.

Keeping records and observations on each child’s school experiences.

Submitting (and posting for parental knowledge) up-to-date, clear lesson plans, with a copy submitted to the Preschool Director.

Having positive communication with children, parents, and staff.

Making sure children have clean faces and hands, especially when they go home.

Following daily schedule for children.

Arriving to work on time. If running late, you must notify the Preschool Director as soon as possible.

Communicating regularly with parents regarding class activities and the specific needs of their child.

Acting as point of contact for parents in the absence of the Director.

Informing the director of any needed supplies in the preschool.

Reports to the Director.

House-keeping responsibilities:

Cleaning the room thoroughly each week, which includes: washing the countertops and sinks, dusting all the surfaces, sweeping the floors daily, cleaning exterior of trash cans and washing fingerprints off doors, cupboards and wallsentrance to each classroom is vacuumed and presentable daily.

Assisting CCA staff in keeping the entire school facility clean and orderly.

Setting up cots for daily naptime.

Cleaning out the children’s cubbies on a regular basis.

Cleaning toys with the school-provided cleaning solution daily.

Disinfecting the children’s chairs and tables regularly after use or during naptime.

Cleaning tables after the children have used them for play or for eating.

Cleaning toilets, restroom sink and mop floor in restroom as assigned.
