Job Summary:
As a Paint Prepper at Kniesel’s Collision, you will play a key role in preparing vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming
surfaces to ensure a flawless, professional finish. You will work closely with the paint and body teams to inspect, prep, and perfect
panels while ensuring a clean and safe work area.
Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, mask, and prime vehicle surfaces to ensure smooth paint application.
Panel Inspection: Review all parts and panels to ensure readiness for painting and the absence of defects.
Masking and Taping: Protect areas not being painted through precise masking techniques.
Priming: Apply primers properly to achieve optimal paint adhesion and smoothness.
Attention to Detail: Ensure all work meets Kniesel’s high-quality standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean tools, sanding blocks, and equipment regularly.
Collaboration: Communicate effectively with painters and body techs to support workflow and quality control.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Paint Prepper or in a similar role in an automotive repair or body shop environment.
Knowledge of vehicle refinishing processes and preparation techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.
Familiarity with safety procedures and guidelines in a body shop environment.
