DESCRIPTION:
The Approval Specialist is responsible for certifying Resource Family homes to Stanford Sierra Youth & Families standard; governed by California Code Title 22, Division 6 and California Children’s Alliance. This position is also responsible for maintaining certification updates and status in Resource Family files and updating expired information. Supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the agency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field
College units in Human Services or related field is preferred but not essential
Experience in customer service
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Establish and maintain a positive relationships with Community Care Licensing and keep current with new Regulations/Interim Licensing Standards and laws for Resource Families
Establish and maintain rapport and a working relationship with Resource Families
Works closely with agency social workers on the families’ compliance with approval standards, needs, and issues
Conducts a home visit to approve and/or identify correction needed for Resource Family certification for initial and re-approval needs
Tracks, collects, and documents all Resource Family renewals, updates, certification paperwork
Bilingual skills are a plus
