Join our family of employees working for our Northern California DSD (Direct Store Delivery Sales) team as the new Warehouse Loader/Back-up Driver This role is hubbed out of our depot in West Sacramento, California. This person and will be a road warrior, supporting our route sales team at the distribution center.Excellent opportunity, working for a "Best in Class" sales organization the last 46 years in the baking!

The Warehouse Loader/Back-up Driver is responsible for picking, packing and shipping product to internal and external customers in an accurate and timely manner from the warehouse located within the assigned distribution center “DC”.Efficiently and safely transports, sorts, and stocks products. Delivers product to other company-owned DCs in the Northern California area via 20-foot box truck.

All candidates must have valid California Driver License and clean DMV Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). This role is perfect for an early riser with a consistent schedule. Works Monday - Friday and is a great opportunity for growth and long-term sales potential growing your own route business.

WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS:

Warehouse Responsibilities (75%)

-Picks, packs, loads and/or ships materials and products

-Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to hand dolly, forklift, electric dolly, pallet jack, and/or vehicle

-Responsible for breaking down, sorting and loading product according to a load diagram

-Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures

-Count and verify all incoming product loads and incoming returns

-Break-down tray stacks and arrange all product for efficient loading and operations

-Pull orders to insure a quick and smooth loading process in the depot as needed

-Count and verify loads before RSRs begin loading their trucks

-May perform quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials and products

-Conducts physical inventory counts; replenishes stock from back-up locations as needed

-Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence

-Process required paperwork, and communicate information to and from the RSR’s as needed for Sales Management

-Maintain a clean, safe, and secure depot environment

-Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Driver Responsibilities (25%)

While delivering product to customers/other DCs:

-Execute on all support activities for our route sales team including but not limited to, emergency response to customer’s needs (i.e., product delivery and merchandising)

-Interacts with internal and external customers with a high degree of professionalism and courtesy

-Deliver product orders as required insuring proper in-stock inventories

-Communicate via telephone, verbal, e-mail, or written reporting to Supervisor

-Complete with accuracy and submit on a daily basis all required paperwork

-Responsible for reporting quality and/or distribution issues to Supervisor on a timely basis

-Accountable for accuracy of each load, notifying Supervisor and appropriate Warehouse personnel immediately regarding any discrepancies

-Safe vehicle operation, including, but not limited to; AM/PM vehicle inspection reports, visual vehicle inspection (walk around), cleanliness of vehicle, professional, courteous and safe driving techniques

-Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS NEEDED):

-Minimum of one to two years driving experience (commercial size vehicles – 20 foot box truck)

-Plus minimum of one to two years related warehouse experience

-Valid California Commercial Driver's License and clean MVR

-Able to successfully demonstrate ability to meet all company driving requirements

-High school diploma or GED equivalent

-Forklift certified a plus

-Ability to assemble, sort, and/or distribute documents, supplies, and/or materials/items

-Perform a variety of general maintenance activities

-Run, maneuver, navigate, or drive vehicles or mechanized equipment

-Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods

-Ability to work with minimal supervision

-Eagerness to follow written and/or oral instructions; read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in either written or electronic form

-Professional appearance and demeanor

-Commitment to excellence and high standards

-Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

-Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

-Prompt and regular attendance onsite is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

-Lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance

-Climb a ladder to a height of at least 20 feet

-Walk, bend, and climb stairs, and/or stand for long periods of time

-Wear appropriate safety equipment

THE PAY:Competitive hourly rate starting between $21.00 - $23.00 per hour (depending on experience), PLUS company-sponsored benefits including: Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation Time, PTO, Paid Holidays, and so much more
