Solo practitioner seeking attorney to help with personal injury cases.
Looking for someone who can handle all steps of a personal injury case in pre-litigation , including:
-Intake
-Requesting medical records, bills, police reports
-Client contact, including updates on treatment and responding to calls
-Preparing demand letters
-Negotiating settlements
-Contacting lienholders
Ideally, you have some experience with the above and would like the flexibility of determining your hours and being able to telecommute. I understand this is not the right fit for everyone. But perhaps it makes sense someone who wants to practice on a limited basis, without having to worry about the business aspects of running a practice, or for someone who also wants to pursue other opportunities simultaneously. Open to working with retired attorneys who want to have a few cases, or newer attorneys with at least some experience, but who want to gain more experience. Location is not important as long as you are licensed in California. If you have limited experience but interest in this area, may be open to training the right person.
You would be working as of counsel or co-counsel in a non-employee capacity. Compensation would be through fee-sharing arrangement in compliance with all applicable professional responsibility rules. Arrangement would depend on experience and case. If attorney is experienced and can independently handle most aspects of case, Attorney would would receive 40% of attorney's fees recovered per case. That amount can be adjusted on individual aspects of cases, such as if it goes into litigation. You would not have to advance any costs. Professional liability insurance can be made available to attorney for cases handled for firm. If inexperienced, may still be open with working together at a lesser percentage until you get to the point you can handle a case more independently. I can also provide hourly work.
I am down-to-earth, easy to work with, but I fight hard for my clients. I am seeking someone who is dependable and also easy to work with, who learns fast, and who can handle a variety of personalities on the phone with professionalism, and who returns calls to clients, adjusters, doctors within a reasonable time.
A plus if you have litigation experience. Another plus if you speak Spanish. If you have experience with workers' compensation, we handle that area of law as well but to a lesser extent.
