Boutique business and employment law firm needs an experienced legal assistant to be the "Right Hand" to the attorneys in a positive environment dedicated to providing excellent results to clients. We’re looking for a take-charge team member who can work with authority and autonomy, but also work well and delegate to others. Needs to be intuitive and think ahead of the attorneys to ensure their needs are met so they can focus on their specialties and help deliver the highest quality legal services.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm. Candidate will work under direct supervision of the attorneys, with guidance from the office manager as needed. Please submit your resume and salary requirements.

Responsibilities:
Provide complete support to 2 attorneys
Maintain attorney calendars; recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements; anticipating changes in litigation or transaction preparation requirements
Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders
Examining, preparing, and processing a variety of legal documents
Proofreading and cite checking legal briefs, memoranda and other legal documents
Draft letters and legal documents
Communicate with court officials, opposing counsel, and clients
Conserves attorneys time by reading, researching, and reviewing legal documents
Help attorneys prepare for arbitration, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate
Maintain complete client confidentiality
Handle multiple deadlines effectively
Perform other administrative duties as they arise
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant in civil litigation
Experience with creating and filing court documents, civil and federal
Familiarity with legal documents, terminology, and court systems
Proficiency with MS Office required (Word, Outlook) Excel a plus
Experience with at least one calendaring platform
Able to keep two attorneys on track with calendared deadlines
Masterful proofreading
Able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Courteous, kind and professional demeanor
Able to work as a team with attorneys and support staff
Extraordinary time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and multitask
Exemplary attendance record
General secretarial support skills, including familiarity with Secretary of State and USPTO filings and deadlines
Associate degree or equivalent experience in Legal Studies or related field preferred
