We truly embody those concepts you learned about in school - but never seem to experience "in the wild". Come be wild with us! Take a deep dive into a topic the children are interested in. Get messy. Create a pizza garden. Raise worms. Explore the many ways we can work with boxes, or bubbles, or sticks. We also have a massive grant coming to expand our outdoor learning, and need like-minded people to help expand our vision.

Our focus is on deepening relationships while making sure each child gets what they need for success, while allowing our teaching team plenty of autonomy and opportunities for knowledge building.
We don't require teachers to spend their time making creative bulletin boards. We discourage staff from cutting out 16 identical shapes so each child can "make" an owl, or a truck. We are looking for gentleness, authenticity, and genuine care. Some people don't like that, because they are used to working in a school that values bulletin boards and max ratios. That is NOT US.
Instead, we have extra staff on hand. Preschool cohorts are limited to 8 or 9 rather than 12. Infant classes always have an extra hand or two. And that's the way we like it! If you are interested in developing wonderful bonds with a wide range of children, their families, and staff, we might just be a great fit for you.
We are looking for a part time staff member who can work later shifts like 1-6 and 12-6 M-F and full time staff who can work 9-6 M-F. Milestones CDC Inc has been in operation since 2008 in downtown Sacramento.
What else sets us apart? We practice Continuity of Care- our children join a peer group with a primary caregiver, and they move throughout the program from classroom to classroom not only with their peer group but also with their teacher. Our staff are committed to our philosophy and truly look forward to building strong connections with their groups of children for 5 years. We also have Resource staff that stay in various classrooms, providing additional support to the primary caregiving groups. We also have small stable groups of children.
Qualifications and Skills
-At least 12 core units in ECE with 3 infant units (Teaching credentials cannot substitute for this mandatory requirement) We may have some flexibility if you are enrolled in some required courses, just let us know your situation
-Experience working with children
-Excellent communication skills
-Professional mannerisms, behaviors, and speech
-Physical Evaluation and TB Clearance, proof of MMR, COVID, and TDaP immunizations
-Fingerprint Clearance with no exemptions
-Positive Attitude, with an aversion to drama
-Ability to work with a team, as well as independently
