Job Summary:The Student Engagement Program Manager is responsible for planning and managing student engagement programs and initiatives within the Office of Engagement to support medical students at Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine. This includes programs related to Student Organizations, Student Councils, Student Programming, Peer Mentorship, and Learning Communities. In addition, they will manage technology and communication platforms and media for the Office of Student Engagement and manage student engagement and logistics for Signature Student Events such as Welcome Event, White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, Awards, and Graduation Ceremonies.Essential Responsibilities:

Advises students, student organizations, and student councils to identify, define, and respond to student needs through referral, program design and implementation, one-on-one support, and developing and connecting to resources.

Plan, implement, and evaluate student engagement programs focused on the goals and values of the Office of Student Engagement.

Manages Learning Communities and Peer Mentoring programs within the Office of Student Engagement, including program design, goals, measurement, and communications.

Manage and coordinate the student organization and student council processes related to registration, event planning, budget allocations and purchasing, training, training materials, and communications.

Manage communication-related student engagement initiatives such as the OSA inbox, OSA/OSE social media accounts, and SharePoint pages, including responsibility for regular review and updates.

Manage the student engagement online platform and utilization by students, student organizations, advisors, and campus partners, including providing educational outreach and training.

Regularly collaborates with internal partners such as the Dean's Office, Offices of Academic and Faculty Affairs, Community Engagement, Medical Education, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity, Information and Technology, Facilities, Procurement, Human Resources, Sim Center and Marketing and Communications to develop & implement student-centered co and extracurricular programming.

Identify and manage external vendors/partners for Offices of Student Engagement and Affairs student programming and events in compliance with KP/KPSOM policies and protocols.

Manages the internal OSA media database, which includes photos and videos from signature events, photoshoots, and student programming.

Identifies media to utilize for student/OSE print and digital initiatives, including the management of the OSA Events page to highlight KPSOM student events to the school community.

Manages Signature Student Events communication to students, guests, volunteers, vendors, and campus partners. Develops and manages event registration processes for signature events and onsite coordination of participants, guests, materials, equipment, and volunteers.

Maintains accurate records of student involvement in extra/co-curricular programming events, databases, and files, tracks data and expenditures, and compiles information for reports.

Plans orientation-related extracurricular activities for new students during the Early Immersive Experience Course.

Ability to work outside of traditional 8-5 hours to accommodate student availability for meetings and events.

Other related administrative functions, projects, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary.

Basic Qualifications:Experience

Minimum of Five (5) years of full-time work experience within student affairs, higher education, or diversity and inclusion in a higher education setting

Education

Masters Degree in higher education administration, student affairs, human development, counseling, or a closely related field

License, Certification, Registration

Knowledge of and experience in student activities, student government, student unions, graduate programs, advising, mentorship programs, or Diversity/multicultural programming

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to support activities of the office, including some evenings and weekends

Excellent organizational skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and other administrative staff

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within a medical school environment and/or start-up environment.

Personable, student-centered, have strong organizational and event planning skills, and have the ability to work independently as well as a member of complex teams/organizations.
