Description We are currently seeking a Leave of Absence (LOA) Manager for a client in the engineering sector. This role offers a compensation range of $90,000–$115,000 annually, depending on experience. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing all leave-related processes while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.Key Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and support on leave of absence matters across U.S.-based organizational entities.
Interpret leave programs and policies to align with applicable laws and regulations.
Supervise and mentor LOA Administrator(s) to ensure operational excellence.
Review medical certifications to assess leave eligibility and approve or deny requests accordingly.
Serve as a primary point of contact for leave-related inquiries involving employees, management, and local representatives, particularly for complex cases.
Address escalated issues related to leave administration.
Maintain and update leave policies to ensure legal compliance.
Manage the integration of multiple leave types (e.g., workers' compensation, FMLA, CFRA).
Counsel employees on matters related to pay, benefits, rights, and responsibilities during leaves or upon their return.
Oversee return-to-work strategies, including reviewing medical documentation and coordinating accommodations as necessary.
Lead the interactive process for ADA accommodation requests and collaborate with employees and management to determine appropriate solutions, when applicable.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping to maintain legal compliance and best practices.
Stay informed on changes in relevant laws and partner with senior leadership to adjust policies as needed.
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of leave-related regulations, such as FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and workers’ compensation.
Proven experience in managing leave programs and policy interpretation.
Leadership experience, including supervising and mentoring staff.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with employees at all organizational levels.
Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage complex cases effectively.
Expertise in navigating escalated situations and providing resolutions aligned with company policies and legal requirements.
