Pasadena Avenue 8th Floor Pasadena, CA 91103 Department Description: Regional Center for Healthy Living supports the development, delivery and evaluation of clinically effective and evidenced-based behavior change and lifestyle management programs to delay or prevent the onset of chronic disease for a SCAL member population of 4.8 million. Additionally, we help patients develop the tools and behaviors to maximize health outcomes while managing chronic disease. There are 13 local Center for Healthy Living departments throughout the Southern California region that provide programs via in-person/virtual workshops, one-on-one coaching, text message support, educational videos and a variety of synchronous/asynchronous health education. Regional initiatives include weight management, nutrition, tobacco/vaping cessation, breastfeeding, heart health, life care planning and stress management. Knowledge of patient-centered approaches to change behaviors that address underlying causes of disease

Engaged in content development, literature reviews, data analysis, and/or user testing with clinical experts and patients

Develops recommendations and present findings on priority issues in health promotion or population care that impact California’s diverse communities

Understands clinical and operational impact of their work through medical center and call center site visits as well as partnerships with physician leaders

Works with a mentor to complete an aspect of a research project

This position provides analytical support to a project or department

Under the guidance of a Project Manager/ Project Lead, responsible for collecting and researching data, performing analysis, providing recommendations and presenting results

Responsible for contributing high level analytical support to a project or department requiring application of knowledge in marketing, information management, finance, management, economics or statistics

This position contributes to a full range of project components

Assigned to 3-5 projects and expected to produce results and report out as a member of a project team

Organizes assigned project tasks, identifies and structures information collection activities, and sets time lines for completion of required tasks as directed

Develops tools to identify and to document best practices

Contributes to development of management information and analysis conducted, provides recommendations and assists with preparation of formal presentations to communicate results to various management levels

Identifies alternative solutions to project issues related to process or quality improvement

Contributes to development project plans to ensure timely deliverables and successful completion of project and demonstrates an understanding of various business intersections

Job Summary:

This internship will support the optimal development, delivery and evaluation of existing Center for Healthy Living programs. Projects may include vetting of potential digital pilots, meeting facilitation, communications planning, marketing/outreach, consulting, interfacing with multiple operational and clinical departments, report/dashboard development, utilization of data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau), population health data analysis/synthesis, qualitative research/data collection and business case development. Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for contributing high level analytical support to a project or department requiring application of knowledge in marketing, information management, finance, management, economics or statistics.

This position contributes to a full range of project components.

Assigned to at least one project and expected to produce results and report out as a member of a project team.

Organizes assigned project tasks, identifies and structures information collection activities, and sets timelines for completion of required tasks as directed.

Develops tools to identify and to document best practices.

Prepares various excel, word or PowerPoint reports, and works with access database software (or similar tool) to develop data extracts and management information reports.

May be asked to produce graphic information using excel or PowerPoint or similar software.

Contributes to development of management information and analysis conducted, provides recommendations and assists with preparation of formal presentations to communicate results to various management levels. Identifies alternative solutions to project issues.

Contributes to development project plans to ensure timely deliverables and successful completion of project and demonstrates an understanding of various business intersections.

Assists with identification and development of training information.

Bachelors degree required.

Enrolled in or recent graduate of a MBA or other Masters level program with an accredited college or university.

Solid analytical skills, problem solving, project management and critical thinking.

Strong project management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to utilize at a working level Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.

Must be able to work in a Labor/ Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of SQL or SAS highly desirable.
