Our Leaves team supports self and family care needs within and away from the workplace.Responsibilities:As part of the Employee Equity & Wellbeing team, you will provide the development, coordination, and support of various projects regarding employment policies & procedures. Additionally, you will play a part in ensuring the laboratory’s compliance through various initiatives, and support our data management, reporting, and auditing. Under guidance of our Employee Relations team, you will receive exposure to learning opportunities regarding employment law, practices, andIn your role, you might be asked to:

Support the review and update of employment policies & practices through project management, and facilitation of informational interviews and team meetings

Review and assess compliance patterns, recommending next steps in partnership with Employee Relations team

Support the roll-out of new case and data management systems, providing input on process and stakeholder communication strategies

Collaborate with other members of Employee Equity & Wellbeing, participating in other projects

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled at least half-time at an accredited local college or university pursuing a Master’s or Doctorate in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Management, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or other major related to work assignment with a graduation date of December 2024 or later

Must be available to work during the summer for a minimum of 24 hours and up to 40 hours per week

Must have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in Human Resources or closely related field

Must have at least 1 semester or quarter remaining to complete degree

Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 out of 4.0 or equivalent

General knowledge of applicable industry and/or academic practices and standards in Human Resources

Desired Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills

Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, theories, and data collection results to diverse audiences

Effectively handles confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy

Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, analytic and assessment tools

Experience facilitating groups, leading interviews, and conducting surveys

Impeccable time management, and a self-starter who can work independently but also take direction when needed

Experience working collaboratively and successfully with many teams

Strong organization, planning, and project management skills
