You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Develop and support the launch of next generation power units and motors for electric vehicles. What you’ll be able to do:Activities will include:

Lead the creation of a motor simulation tool that optimizes topology of motors (length, diameter, wire shape, wire diameter, winding patterns, etc.) with materials and other parameters around electrical controls of the E Machine, inverter capabilities, along with manufacturing constraints

Develop and implement advanced finite element optimization algorithms along with analytical calculations to analyze and optimize various motor technologies and vehicle level attributes

Lead the incorporation of new technology developments into designs, focusing on cost optimization from design to manufacturing

Create robust design for automotive application and for mass manufacturing

Establish vehicle-aligned component and system targets for function, cost, weight and investment within the powertrain systems within the architecture phase of vehicle development

Create block diagrams and 3D topology for HV distribution, HV ancillary, motors, inverters, gearboxes, or traction battery systems to drive the development of new architectures

Develop requirements and correlated analytical models for powertrain systems, collaborating with engineering teams across the organization

Identify and track key system decisions that establish technology roadmaps and product architecture. Work with program systems teams to make architecture trades for range and performance that benefit the vehicle and customer.

Lead and contribute to design reviews, test plans, and requirements reviews to further optimize the powertrain system cross functionally

Facilitate effective communication with manufacturing, supply chain, and other engineering teams to deliver optimal design solutions

Present concepts and status to senior management and internally to company personnel in an integration and subject matter expert role

Drive innovation in powertrain and integration of future technologies that provide benefit to the product; both short- and long-term roadmap items
