Construction Estimator (Commercial) Minimum of 5 yrs. experience required) Must be experienced in interlocking and pedestal pavers; masonry, and general construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze Project Plans:
Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements.
Perform Quantity Take-offs:
Measure and calculate the exact quantities of materials (like concrete, steel, or lumber) and labor needed for the project.
Obtain Quotes and Prices:
Contact material suppliers for pricing and availability, and solicit bids from subcontractors for trades like electrical or plumbing.
Calculate Project Costs:
Determine the cost of materials, equipment, labor, and any other associated expenses, including overhead and profit.
Site Visits:
Visit construction sites to assess site conditions that might impact costs or construction methods.
Risk Assessment:
Identify potential risks, unforeseen challenges, or changes in industry trends that could affect project costs.
Develop Cost Proposals:
Compile detailed financial proposals that outline the estimated project costs, materials, labor, and timeline for the client or
company.
Budget Management:
Work with project managers to track actual costs against the budget and make necessary adjustments throughout the project
lifecycle.
Collaboration:
Liaise with architects, engineers, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure cost accuracy and project
feasibility.
Cost-Saving Recommendations:
Suggest cost-saving measures or alternative materials to help clients meet budget requirements.
