Hiring Sewing Operator
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Sewing Operator where you will contribute to the assembly of raw materials for the manufacture of parachutes and related parts. This role requires skilled operators who are comfortable working with challenging materials and using standard measuring tools. You will operate various manual and computer-driven sewing machines, including double needle, single needle, bartackers, zigzag, and merrow/overlock machines. This position is on the 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with availability for overtime until 4:30 pm, and potential work on Saturdays.
Responsibilities
Pin, mark, trim, and prepare raw material assemblies.
Sew all raw materials, including support tapes and webbing.
Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on sewing machines.
Complete required paperwork and recordkeeping.
Assist in training new operators.
Read and interpret work specification sheets and drawings.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Follow company rules and procedures.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in single needle, double needle, zigzag, merrow, and overlock sewing machine operation.
Ability to use standard measuring tools.
Experience in sewing and upholstery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Pass a sewing test.
No high school diploma required.

Work Environment
Work in a state-of-the-art manufacturing shop floor that is both heated and air-conditioned. The noise level is moderate, due to the sewing machines and traffic. This position involves frequent walking and sitting at a sewing machine, with occasional lifting and pulling of moderate to heavy items. The workplace is inclusive, with many bilingual employees available to assist in understanding basic written instructions.
